As a thank you for registering early for the Aer Lingus Art for Schools Competition, Cumber Claudy Primary School’s Primary Six class will receive a behind the scenes tour of George Best City Airport, which has been home to Aer Lingus in Northern Ireland

Ruth Morgan, Communications Executive for George Best Belfast City Airport said: “We are delighted to invite the P6 class from Cumber Claudy Primary School to George Best Belfast City Airport for their exclusive tour where they’ll learn more about our airport and we’ll introduce them to parts of the airport not normally seen by the travelling public.”

This year’s competition asks P4, P5 and P6 pupils from schools across Northern Ireland to create a design that represents everything that is great about Belfast City and Northern Ireland.

The winning design will be made into a decal sticker that will be applied to the Aer Lingus Belfast to London aircraft. The judging panel for the 2014 competition consists of Andrea Hunter, Business Development Manager of Aer Lingus, Managing Editor of ni4kids, Nadia Duncan and Ruth Morgan, Communications Executive at George Best Belfast City Airport.

Andrea Hunter, said: ‘I would like to congratulate Cumber Claudy Primary School and hope they have a fantastic day out at Belfast City Airport.

‘So far the response to our 2014 Art for Schools competition has been tremendous and I would encourage primary school children across Northern Ireland if they’re at a loose end over the Christmas holidays to give it a go.

‘There are so many things to be proud of in Northern Ireland, from our beautiful landmarks, inspirational sports men and women to our celebrities. We want you design something that really means a lot to you.’

There’s still time to enter the overall competition before the final closing date of 14th February 2014, so ask Santa for some new pens and pencils this Christmas and get cracking!

To submit your winning decal design, teachers of Primary 4,5 & 6 classes can register and download a competition entry template from the home page at or phone 028 9078 8888. Once your class has created their designs select one winning entry on behalf of the class and send it to: The Aer Lingus Art for Schools Competition, c/o ni4kids Magazine, Unit 2, Channel Wharf, 21 Old Channel Road, Belfast, BT3 9DE before the competition closing date of Friday 14 February 2014.
