Summer 2012

Festival of Fools presents Sunday Treats

Summer Sundays are about to get a whole lot better, with 9 weeks of hand picked Sunday Treats. With amazing street theatre shows every Sunday, in Cotton Court and in Saint Anne’s Square.

The fun commences on Sunday 1st July and continues until Sunday 26th August, with shows starting at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.

From Sunday 1st July – Sunday 26th August, you can experience the upside down world of Australian acrobat Fatt Matt, the dizzying life of Aussie beautician Yvonne Calling, death defying aerial feats from the Barren Carrousel, surreal comedy from Dankso Gida, jugglers extraordinaire Haggis & Charlie, silly randomness from Maynard Flip Flap, high energy acrobatics from the Afrikan Warriors, mystical traditional magic from the East with Jardhu, award winning circus from Tumble Circus, charming silent clowning from Teatro Pachuco, crowd pleasing double act Babcock and Bobbins, the comedy antics of Ireland’s most famous boy band - the Lords of Strut, or good old fashioned gentleman juggler, with a youthful twist, from Matt Pang, and reach enlightenment with Daryl Summers, all rounded off with comedy delights from the Magilligans and supercharged hip hop and beat box from Rannel, a massive hit at this year’s Festival of Fools.

And because the shows are free of charge, you’ll have that wonderful warm feeling that makes you feel like enjoying yourself; you may even feel like putting some money in the hat, or treating yourself to some fantastic food at 9 local restaurants.

The Festival of Fools is also programming a ‘Festival in an Afternoon’ on 12th July in Belfast City Centre. As well as top notch street theatre, there will also be a food market, craft workshops and samba drummers. Funding has yet to be confirmed, but you can keep up to date on this and the whole Sunday Treats season at www.foolsfestival.com
