The 29thCinemagic Film and Television Festival in Association with Hagan Homes returns in October and November jam-packed with special opportunities for young people and families.

Highlights include a special preview of Smallfoot the much-anticipated animated adventure from Warner Bros. Pictures Captain Morten and the Spider Queen, Next Door Spy, Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver, Harvie and the Magic Museum and Cats and Peachtopia.

The annual Cinemagic Pyjama party, with storytelling and a screening of Sleeping Beauty, Basil the Great Mouse Detective andMr Hullaboloo’s Happy Halloween make up the activity screenings at The Ulster Museum. Creativity Corner workshops offer practical opportunities with Aardman Model Makingand Special Effects Make-Up with Sophie Knox. Celebrating the Dippy on Tour exhibition, dinosaur fans will have a roaring time at a programme of special themed events in the museum including movies Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs, The Land Before Time, Early Man & Music from the Movies, Dino Drama, Dino Comic Book Making and Dinosaur Lego Building!

No Alibis Bookstore will host Shorts for Shorties and Ted Sieger’sMolly Monster,and the ever-popular Tales at Twilight returns with introductions to films from local authors Sheena Wilkinson, Kelly McCaughrain andPauline Burgesswho will introduce The Sword in the Stone, The NeverEnding Storyand The Little Vampire.

School cinema events for primary and nursery schools feature a screening of Winnie The Pooh along with a musical ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ concert from musician Tom Sweeney, a My First Cinema Trip screening of animation Capt’n Sharky, thePre-historic show with History Live,and Q&A from Disney Ireland& the Industry Trustwith the new hit movie Christopher Robin.

As part of the Movies for Kids strand Cinemagic is looking for enthusiastic ‘CineSeekers’ film reviewers aged 5-11, to watch and judge the in-competition films of the festival!
