Ni4kids has teamed up with The Scout Foundation Northern Ireland and Scouting Ireland to keep kids active and busy over the school summer holidays. If your child has ever thought that they might like to find out more about becoming a scout, then this is their perfect opportunity to give it a go and win a Scout badge and a certificate!
There are three challenges recommended for children aged 6 years old and above and they can choose to take part in just one, or do all three. And if they compete all three challenges they should probably think about becoming a real scout! There are 50 badges for each challenge up for grabs, so why not do something different this August and see if you have what it takes!
Challenge 1 – Lens Lockdown 2020
A photography challenge where you have to submit a total of four photographs (one for each of the four themes)
The four themes are:
- Nature and the environment
- Life during lockdown
If you need some inspiration check out the photos submitted by scouts here
Challenge 2 – Home Hike 2020
The goal of this challenge is for you as a scout to increase the number of steps you take each day by ‘virtually climbing’ well-known mountains across the world. Set your own personal challenge and see how many mountains you can climb.
Challenge 3 – H20 2020
This challenge is based on the theme of water, highlighting that it is one of the most important substances on earth. There are a total of four activities to complete to earn this badge including hydration, saving water, STEM and creativity activities.
There are a total of four activities as outlined on the Scout Foundation NI website – you must complete all four challenges to earn your H2o 2020 challenge badge and certificate.
Email: email@example.com with your entries and any questions. Good luck!
