NISF X Ulster Transport Museum – Full Steam Ahead!

February 17 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

For its landmark 10th year, NI Science Festival alongside some of its friends from past editions present a packed day of interactive activities, workshops, immersive experiences and much more the whole family can enjoy, set in the awe inspiring surroundings of the Ulster Transport Museum.

Just some of the things on offer for this all-ages day at the museum :

  • Shows with Scientific Sue and circus science with Strongwomen Science
  • transport and science themed arts and crafts
  • dig for buried treasure with NMNI’s Archaeology curators and see up close some collections from our early ancestors.
  • take a spin around the Solar system with our Our Place in Space tour guide
  • Print your own t-shirt or tote bag
  • chat to professor Lukey Luke about all things science
  • chase our Steampunk Stilt-walker
  • draw some Fantastical Machines – using the museum’s own exhibits as your inspiration with inventor/Artist/plumber Paddy Bloomer
  • Storytelling & Activities with Still I Rise
  • get up close and personal with HawkWalk Ni’s Eagles and Falcons.
  • You can also chat all things RC Planes with FPV Cameras with Prof Potter,
  • peek in to the world of innovative maritime engineering and technology with Artemis Technologies
  • A rare chance to see some items from the Transport Museum’s Stores
  • or chat to NMNI’s own curators, as they show us how the animals in the air and sea have influenced the design of transport through the ages.

With music from Bang Bike and magic with Magic George, that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
