With Mother’s Day this Sunday (27th March) it’s time to start thinking about how we can treat that special person in our lives and show her our appreciation.
Naturally, we want to get them a gift, but there are other ways to show them how much we care and more importantly spend some extra time with them.
We can treat them to a delicious afternoon tea or a trip to their favourite restaurant, or we can do something simpler and sweeter. Have a look at these ideas for ways to say ‘thanks mum’!
With spring officially here and longer days approaching, we can really begin to make plans to spend more time outdoors! A nice long walk with mum at her favourite spot, be that the beach or a forest walk, is a really lovely idea. A chance to get some fresh air and enjoy some ‘down’ time together is always a good thing – and if there’s the possibility of a nice hot chocolate or even an ice cream at the end, even better! Why not bring a picnic with you and make the most of the sunny weather we’re experiencing right now!
Why not start her Mother’s Day off in the nicest way possible and treat her to breakfast in bed? With her preferred hot drink and tasty treats, she can enjoy a slower start to the morning with time to read her favourite magazine or newspaper.
If you can’t be with your mum on Mother’s Day, why not put together a photo album or collage of your favourite memories of her and your times together. There are apps available to download onto your phone, or kiosks in chemists, making it easier than ever to print out those beloved memories. Photos are such precious momentos and something she will treasure forever.
Or alternatively, with the clocks ‘springing forward’ an hour this weekend, meaning an hour’s less sleep on Mother’s Day, perhaps giving mum a chance to catch up on some rest with a nice long lie-in might just be the gift she enjoys the most!
