About Us

Family Media Group has been publishing Ni4kids Magazine and associated platforms in Northern Ireland for over 20 years. This was followed, six years ago, with the introduction of our Scotland4Kids Family edition and, more recently, our Scotland4Teachers’ edition.

We are a small, dedicated team, staffed by mums with young children, who  live and breathe the sector daily. From each of our own personal and professional experiences we know what readers want.

Through our hand-picked, relevant content - along with its digital and social platforms - we have been informing, helping and entertaining parents of primary school-age children throughout NI for over two decades. In turn, by becoming market leaders, we have built strong, engaged and loyal audiences and  have been providing high, cost-effective response levels for advertisers since 2000.  Our focus has not changed in our history. We are still putting you, our reader, first.

Meet The Team

Favourite Family Day Out: A walk in the Fairy Glen, Rostrevor, is our weekly go-to destination. It’s a place that the whole family can enjoy together – even the dog – and it never fails to make us smile, whatever the weather. It helps that if it’s raining, we treat ourselves to hot chocolate with marshmallows to heat us up afterwards!

Rainy Day Activity of Choice: I live with gamers but on Sundays I join in and we hold a Mario Kart Grand Prix. I come last every week but it’s still a lot of fun.

Fun Fact About Me: I have five tattoos – all on my arms. One of which is a Harry Potter inspired one that my kids just love. They also like to colour them in when they think I need a ‘new look’.

Favourite Family Day Out: We are a farming family so when we aren’t out in the fields hunting for treasure or rounding up the sheep we love a trip to Newcastle for a walk along the promenade, it always ends with an ice cream!

Rainy Day Activity of Choice: I love nothing more than having the house sparkly clean, the fire lit and snuggling up with my two on the sofa to watch a movie. There’s always popcorn and some lovely hot chocolate… I do the whole shebang.  Doesn’t even matter if it’s the middle of summer! Summer, you say? Yeah, I know!

Fun Fact About Me: I feel that my fun facts aren’t very appropriate for our family magazine, instead I’ll give you an embarrassing fact … I once called my boss (and he’s still my boss) ‘Daddy’. Awkward!

Mum to an energetic son and colouring-obsessed daughter.

Favourite Family Day Out: A big walk at the North Coast, dipping our toes in the sea and running around the dunes. We always have to finish it off with fish and chips overlooking the sea.

Rainy Day Activity of Choice: Being a graphic designer I have always encouraged the kids’ passion for colouring-in and creating. We love a simple afternoon of colouring and making up stories to match the ‘illustrations’ (I use that term lightly!).

Fun Fact About Me: I know every word to any Disney Princess song and love Christmas more than Buddy the Elf!

Jenny NI 4 kids

Jenny (Sales manager)

Mum to 2 sporty boys, a dog, Bella and cat, Mo
Joined Ni4Kids: 2017

Favourite Family Day Out: Having sporty boys there’s rarely time for a family day out, it’s normally a football match followed by hockey which takes us all over the country. When we do get the chance, you can find us taking a sea swim, walking on the beach with our dog or in one of the local seaside restaurants enjoying good food and a glass of wine!

Rainy Day Activity of Choice: We’re all pretty competitive, so cards and board games while watching a good movie.

Fun Fact About Me: I know both the off-side rule in football and how to win a short corner in hockey!
