Education Minister Launches New Integrated Education Strategy and Action Plan

Education Minister, Paul Givan, formally published a new Integrated Education Strategy and Action Plan for the period 2025–2030.

The new Strategy for Integrated Education 2025–2030 has been developed following an extensive public consultation and through close collaboration with key sector representatives.

Paul Givan said: “Parental preference is at the heart of the educational system in Northern Ireland, and I want to see a vibrant and supported network of sustainable Integrated schools providing high‑quality Integrated Education to children and young people.

“Covering a five-year period from 2025 to 2030, the strategy sets out a comprehensive roadmap for the development of Integrated Education.”

In developing the Strategy and accompanying Action Plan, the Department consulted widely with statutory consultees including the Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education, the Integrated Education Fund and the Controlled Schools’ Support Council. Further engagement included stakeholders such as the Education Authority, the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools, and a range of broader education and community representatives.
