NSPCC Northern Ireland is welcoming back the HACK (Hike Against Cruelty to Kids) to raise money to support the charity’s flagship Childhood Day.
The event will take place on Saturday 28th May in the beautiful coastal town of Newcastle, County Down. Walkers will cover an 8km route, including Northern Ireland’s highest mountain, Slieve Donard.
With views stretching as far as the Isle of Man and Scotland, HACK 2022 is set to be a fantastic, challenging and rewarding day for everyone involved.
This challenge supporting NSPCC’s Childhood Day, encourages people from Northern Ireland to come together and play their part in protecting children.
Joanne McMaster, Supporter Fundraising Manager for NSPCC Northern Ireland wants people to channel that community spirit for the event.
“We are so delighted that the NSPCC HACK is back! It is really exciting to be able to welcome our supporters back to events this year, and the HACK is the perfect opportunity to take in some of the most spectacular scenery that Northern Ireland has to offer, while raising money to support Childhood Day,” she said.
“Childhood Day is all about communities joining us to help us stop child abuse. The HACK will bring people together with one shared purpose, to raise money and work together, allowing the NSPCC to protect even more children from abuse and neglect.”
This year’s HACK costs £30 to register, with the charity asking participants to raise a minimum of £70 in sponsorship. Supporters will get a fundraising pack including a t-shirt, fundraising ideas and access to training support. On the day, all walkers will get a certificate and complimentary burger or hotdog at O’Hares after the hike.
This year’s event is sponsored by Lidl Northern Ireland, which has recently extended its very successful charity partnership with NSPCC Northern Ireland. Having already raised over £700,000 in the last five years, the retailer is committing to extend that fundraising target for the children’s charity to over £1.1 million by 2024.
